**ATTENTION YOUTH ARTISTS & TEACHERS!**

Did you know you can win big at the Stock Show without owning livestock? The Stock Show Art Contest offers young artists the chance to enter their original works of art depicting or expressing the culture of Texas and western environments.

- Open to the entire state of Texas

- More than $80,000 will be given away in cash & scholarships to young talented artists

- Teachers can win money for their classrooms!

- Entering is FREE and each submission will receive two (2) one-day passes to gain admission to the FWSSR grounds

- ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: more than $16,000 has been added to our 3-D sculpting division

- The top entries from each age division will be sold at the Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale to increase their scholarship amounts

- Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, and High School Classroom Champion will be invited to a one-day art workshop hosted by the Cowboy Artists of America during the 2024 FWSSR.


Subject/Theme:

When creating works to enter, please take the following guidelines into consideration:

Traditional, abstract, realism, contemporary, or impressionism styles that depicts or expresses the culture of Texas and western environments, both contemporary and historical.

Some examples include but are not limited to:

  • Texas landscapes
  • Wildlife,
  • Livestock,
  • Agriculture & horticulture
  • Ranching and farming activities,
  • Iconic Fort Worth scenes
  • Legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo
  • People and animals working and playing in everyday western environments

2023 - 2024 Art Contest Rules

After reviewing the 2023 - 2024 Rules please CLICK HERE to complete the Online Entry Form. This form must be completed for each art entry and submitted before turning in artwork in person or by mail.
Mounting Requirements for all 2-D Division Art Entries: All 2-D Division Art Entries with the exception of canvas and canvas board are required to have a border 1½” to 2” in size (or matting if desired) and be mounted on illustration board or cardboard cut to the exact dimensions of the final Art Entry. (Final size with 2” border no larger than 22 X 28 total inches) FRAMED ARTWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Please be mindful of the Entry Number given to each submission. It will be helpful when you turn in your artwork in person.
