Hey y'all. I'm sorry. I came back from taking my son to college (and a looooong summer trip with him before it) and discover over 100,000 emails at work. And all the things that everyone was waiting on mom to get home to do. So I just didn't have the time this week to put together a good events list. So scroll down and you'll see the best I could do, a cross-section of events in our area (basically the first group of the 100s I was working through).
When I made the decision not to "do it right," (because putting just those in the system would have taken several hours, not to mention the ones I didn't have time to cut-and-paste before my publish deadline), I realized that sometimes we have to accept that things aren't going to be perfect and they're going to be ok.
When we're overwhelmed some say we're under purposed. Why? because when our purpose, vision, and goals are aligned, we find ourselves automatically cutting outthe things that aren't truly important. So being clear about your purpose, vision, and goals is a HUGE antidote to overwhelm.
Sometimes EVERYTHING feels like a high priority, and that's when we have to triage our time and energy. I miss my oldest. And that's ok. it's actually healthy and good. I've let him go, but my heart aches when I turn to tell him something and he's not here. That means we had a good run. So I just don't have the energy I normally would, and that's ok. It will come back in time.
Whatever you're going through today I hope you know it will be ok. It will be ok. And it's ok not to be ok in the moment. Trust that it WILL be ok, and take steps you need to preserve your energy, health, and sanity during this busy back-to-school time.
There are a TON of back-to-school events happening. I've put some of them below, but do a facebook and eventbrite search and you'll be shocked at how many backpack giveaways are going on this weekend.
